Let Peace Be Your Pace: Why You Don’t Have to Force What God Has Ordained

We live in a culture that rewards hustle, visibility, and being “on” 24/7. There’s constant pressure to perform, produce, and prove ourselves—as if our worth is tied to how much we can do or how fast we can get there. But here’s a reminder I needed recently (and maybe you do too): you don’t have to force what God has already ordained.
Peace isn’t something that just happens when your life is calm. It’s a choice. It’s a fruit of trust. And trust? It’s quiet.

Trust Doesn't Rush
Trust doesn’t beg for attention. It doesn’t chase after validation. It doesn’t let other people’s timelines pressure you into moving ahead of God.
I’ve had recent moments where I was tempted to overwork or force something just so I wouldn’t feel behind. But the more I tried to push, the more I realized:
Bite Sized Wisdom: Hurry is the enemy of peace. And pressure is a poor substitute for presence.
You don’t have to prove yourself to walk in purpose. And you definitely don’t have to burn yourself out to be used by God. He doesn’t need your performance—He wants your surrender.
Let Peace Be Your Pace
Here’s your gentle (and bold) reminder:
Let peace be your pace.
Let God be your guide.
Let rest be your resistance to everything trying to steal your focus.
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you.” — Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)
Aligned Friendships, Aligned Purpose
A few weeks ago, I had a creative shoot with two close friends—one a photographer, one a videographer. In the middle of planning shots and catching up, we all had a moment. We realized God was purging, redirecting, and stretching each of us at the same time.
Different assignments. Same spiritual shift. And it hit me—who you walk with matters.

Not every friendship is meant to go where God is taking you. Even familiar relationships can become quiet distractions if they aren’t aligned with your purpose. But when you’re surrounded by people who are also being refined, it changes things. It sharpens you. It affirms what God has already been whispering.
“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” — Proverbs 27:17 (NLT)
A Challenge for You:
Look around at your circle. Are the people around you encouraging obedience? Or unknowingly distracting you from it?
