Delayed Obedience Is Still Disobedience: A Reminder to Move When God Says Move

We talk about faith a lot—what it looks like, how to build it, how to trust God more—but recently, I’ve been reminded that real faith isn’t just about knowing what to do. It’s about doing it, especially when it’s inconvenient or uncomfortable.
It’s easy to stay stuck in the learning, praying, and planning phase. But eventually, we have to ask: Am I actually walking this out?
Faith in Motion
For me, walking it out has looked like:
Making space for God even when my schedule is full
Renewing my mind daily so old habits don’t creep back in
Following through on things I know God told me to do—even when I feel unsure or unqualified
Starting this very newsletter was one of those things. I procrastinated for a while, thinking I needed more clarity. But obedience doesn’t always feel clear or comfortable—it just has to be faithful.
And the truth is, sometimes we delay what God is trying to do in our lives simply because we hesitate to take the next step.

What's Your Next Step?
Is there something God’s been nudging you to do, but you’ve been putting it off? Maybe it’s:
Forgiving someone
Spending more time in prayer or the Word
Launching that idea that’s been burning in your spirit
Saying “no” to distractions so you can say “yes” to your assignment
Bite-Sized Wisdom: Sometimes, the delay isn't from God...it's from our own hesitation.
The Power of Being Present
Earlier this year, I took my mom and Tyler on a spontaneous camping trip. It reminded me of how easy it is to miss what’s right in front of us. No phones. No multitasking. Just real, present moments—making fires, hiking trails, sitting under the stars.
Lately, I’ve been reading Let Them by Mel Robbins, and one of the takeaways is simple but powerful: when we try to control everything, we’re not fully present. We’re living in our heads, stuck in “what ifs” instead of “what is.”
What if, instead of trying to manage outcomes, we just… showed up?
"Stop fighting, and know that I am God."- Psalm 46:10 (NLT)

A Challenge for Today
Let go of the need to have it all figured out. Put your phone down. Be where your feet are. And trust that God has you right where you’re supposed to be.
